Thinking locally and serving the very best in food and beverage is something Epping Club CEO Peter Saez has always been passionate about. One of the Club’s latest goals is to handpick outstanding local suppliers and invite them to be part of the offering—creating a culture that celebrates local artisans and keeps the Club progressive and fresh, all while supporting the community. In line with this vision, The Epping Club is proud to welcome three exceptional grassroots producers—Convict Bitters, The Primary Goods Distillery and Sydney Beer Co.—to its 45 on Rawson bar offering.
Now pouring at 45 on Rawson is Convict Bitters, a father-and-son artisan business giving a modern twist to traditional bitters. Rooted in Australian history, the name pays homage to the early days when bitters were a botanical remedy brought by convicts to cure seasickness—eventually becoming part of the national drinking identity through the iconic Lemon, Lime & Bitters. Guests can now order this Aussie classic at the bar and toast to supporting local makers. More at convictbitters.com.au.
Also joining the Club’s premium local beverage selection is The Primary Goods Distillery, founded by husband-and-wife team Dylan and Rachel Falecki. What began in a humble Parramatta storage unit during the pandemic has grown into a multi-award-winning distillery with a mission to create quality, locally inspired spirits. While their single malt whisky matures, guests can enjoy other offerings from their “72 Range” including 72 Conditions Vodka and Section 72 Gin—crafted with character, passion and a deep connection to Western Sydney. In addition, 45 on Rawson now proudly pours Sydney Beer Co. on tap. Launched in 2016, Sydney Beer Co. was created to give Sydney its own premium lager—one that reflects the spirit of the city and offers an authentic local alternative to mainstream international brands. Refreshing, smooth and unmistakably Sydney, it’s a perfect fit for the Club’s mission to champion local success.
Peter Saez, CEO of The Epping Club, said the initiative reflects a newly adopted, passionate culture of supporting emerging local brands.
“Running a large business means creating a culture of helping smaller grassroots businesses rise with you. We love seeking locals who are doing something different, exciting, unique and adding them to the offering. We're not only supporting artisan suppliers, the creators, the makers and the people pushing to be unique and different, but we are demonstrating our commitment to the community and its growth.”
Each of these rising stars was handpicked to reflect the Club’s values and its ongoing promise to provide members and guests with premium, quality products whilst celebrating community innovators and makers.
