Following Miss Yuè’s victory in the 2025 Perfect Plate Awards, renowned Australian chef and restaurateur Matthew Moran AM praised the restaurant live on 2GB radio, calling his experience at the Epping Club “one of the best Chinese meals I have eaten in Australia.”
As the official ambassador for the Perfect Plate competition, Moran visited venues across New South Wales, championing the excellence and evolution of club dining. Speaking the morning after the announcement of this year’s winners, he singled out Miss Yuè at The Epping Club as a personal standout.
“I’ll be really honest,” he told 2GB listeners, “I went to a Chinese restaurant in the Epping Club and it was one of the best Chinese meals I have eaten in Australia. It was very creative. The chef from Singapore – he is such a talent. They’re really stepping up for food in a club.”
Moran also commented on the rise of club dining across the state. “Food has all changed. We did nearly 100 clubs. Clubs are producing great food and some great cooks. Every year it gets better and better.”
The comments come as Miss Yuè celebrates its Perfect Plate win for the Peking Style Egg Roll – a dish that wowed both diners and industry judges. The accolade reinforces The Epping Club’s growing reputation as a leader in club-based hospitality and culinary innovation.
The Club’s President, David Taylor, called the award “a game changer” and acknowledged Moran’s role in helping elevate the venue’s food offering. “Matt’s visit brought a huge amount of positive energy to our team and helped put a spotlight on what clubs like ours are doing in the food space.”
Miss Yuè is located within The Epping Club on Rawson Street, Epping, and is open to both members and the public.
