When Peter Saez, Chief Executive Officer of The Epping Club, set out to lead the club’s multi-million dollar renovation, his vision extended far beyond aesthetics. He recognised the need for complete audio and lighting flexibility, an environment where multiple events could operate simultaneously without compromise. Central to delivering that vision was the integration of directional audio technology through Jbn Sound Ceilings.
After taking out the 2025 Wedding Industry Awards for Greater Sydney, The Epping Club didn’t stop there. They set their sights on creating more than just a luxury event space, they wanted a fully immersive audio experience, with the flexibility to seamlessly adapt between different room configurations. That’s where the Jbn Sound Ceiling and Beyond AV audio integration specialists stepped in.
At the centre of the redevelopment is the Grand Ballroom, an impressive space designed to transform effortlessly. It can operate as one spectacular ballroom or be divided into four completely independent function rooms. The challenge was ensuring that each room could host its own high-energy celebration without disrupting the one next door.
Beyond AV installed four independent Jbn Sound Ceilings within the coffered ceiling design, each positioned directly above its designated dancefloor. The result is powerful, concentrated audio exactly where it’s needed, on the dancefloor, while surrounding areas remain balanced and controlled. When the operable walls are closed, events run side by side with no audible crossover. When opened, the space becomes one cohesive ballroom capable of hosting large-scale weddings and gala events with seamless audio coverage.
The secondary ballroom follows the same philosophy. Designed to divide into two separate function rooms, it features three additional Jbn Sound Ceilings, allowing multiple events to operate simultaneously with complete audio independence. Whether hosting intimate celebrations or concurrent corporate functions, each room maintains its own identity and atmosphere.
Importantly, the real-world feedback has reinforced the success of the installation. As shared by the venue’s Events Operations Manager, DJs have responded extremely positively to the system, highlighting the excellent sound quality and how effective the speakers are, particularly within the venue’s sound restrictions. The flexibility to adapt audio levels between speeches, dancing, and multiple rooms has proven to be a major advantage, with the system now being used across all events.
In total, seven Jbn Sound Ceilings were installed across the venue. The outcome is a space that doesn’t just look premium, it performs like it. Dancefloors can reach full energy without compromising neighbouring rooms or external areas, giving the venue confidence to deliver vibrant celebrations without limitation.
This project showcases what modern function venues demand: flexibility, atmosphere, and precision. At The Epping Club, directional sound technology now works quietly in the background, allowing every event to feel exclusive, immersive, and completely its own.
